The 2009 - 2010 school year presents exciting challenges for
students, staff and parents. This year’s theme Excellence
in Action is more than a slogan, but a way of life at
Platt. As a Connecticut recognized Vanguard and ConnCan
School expectations are high for all of us. That means
teachers, administrators and support staff stand ready to deliver
on the promise made to everyone attending Platt…we will
provide nothing less than the finest technical/academic education
possible for all students.
Our school goal is for each of you to achieve honors level
grades every marking period, while working through a rigorous
course of instruction specifically designed to assure future
success. Last year 66% of the student body did exactly that.
Platt graduates will be quick to tell you that quality high
school preparation made them ready to enter the workforce as
skilled trade people or successful college students. That doesn’t
mean individual accomplishment comes easy; achievement is a
function of how hard you work…and at Platt Tech we work
hard! A life lesson to hold close is that nothing less
than your very best is ever good enough. That
is what I expect from you at all times. The real world demands
a great deal and there is precious little time to get ready
before it’s your turn to stand and deliver.
Platt Tech is a special place where tradition, innovation
and dedication come together in a school known for the talent
and heart of students. Whether stocking the food bank, giving
to the blood bank, putting toys under the Christmas tree, feeding
the homeless or making certain senior citizens hair is done just
right our school culture reflects pride in what we do.
Finally, remember that we are here for you…and that
includes me first and foremost. You will see or hear me almost
every day, so don’t be shy to come to me with concerns.
As with all your teachers, we will always give you good advice
simply because you are the reason we come to work each day!
Have a great school year!
