Seniors
had the opportunity to learn about avoiding situations that
might lead to sexual assault through a presentation by Erin
McLeod from the Rape Crisis Center of Milford. Students
learned the definition of rape, the steps to take in order
to report an assualt to the police, and in obtaining medical
attention. The legal ramifications and severe consequences
to the attacker were also specifically addressed. Making good
and healthy choices before, during, and after a negative situation
involving drugs and/or alcohol were included in the question
and answer period which followed the slide and video presentations.
As
they approach graduation in June and look forward to college
and/or employment careers, the students were made aware of
the dangers and consequences which encompass date rape, domestic
violence and sexual assault. |
