The
Ellis Tech Student Council sponsored it first blood drive
on September 29, 2009, from 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The
sign ups resulted in 85 potential donors, but because of
newly-instituted height and weight requirements, many of
the female donors could not donate, thus the potential donor
numbers fell. When all was said and done, the council
collected 47 usable units, which were only three short of
the council’s goal of 50 units.
The council extends it warmest thanks to everyone who worked to make the drive such a success. Our blood drives are truly the gifts that keep on giving. The special group of students who organized everything from publicity to sign ups to escorting donors include the following: Jenna Normandin, Jess Duchesney, Jamie Verraneault, Cassie McCrory, Sean Haythe, Brandon Bourey, Clinton Chase, Miranda Desmaris, and Brittany Kallio.
A very special tip of the hat goes to this great bunch of students, who have continued to make Ellis Tech a great place to be. The next blood drive is scheduled for January 2010. |
