are the requirements to be admitted into the

4. If available, official transcripts for English composition, Intermeidate
Math, Developmental Psychology, Human Biology and Anatomy and Physiology.

How
do I apply to a LPN Program?
1. Fill out the application that is available online. At www.cttech.org/lpn.
2. Return the completed application with your resume and the required
$50 application fee. (Certified or bank check only)
3. Sign up to take the Nurse Entrance Test from ERI
How do I register for the Nurse Entrance Test (NET)
from ERI?
You can register for the test by calling ERI (Educational Resources
Inc.) at 1-800-299-3926 or by visiting their web site, www.eriworld.com.
What does it cost to attend the LPN Program?
The
total program tuition costs are only $4,050 for the day program.
The two evening program tuition costs are only $5,400. Additional
costs for uniforms, required Introduction to Psychology course,
books and supplies are approximately $1,200.
Is financial aid available?
Yes.
Pell Grants and Veterans Educational Benefits are available to
eligible students who qualify. Tuition waivers are available
for qualifying veterans and senior citizens only. For the
prerequisite college courses, all community colleges offer federal
and state financial aid, grants, scholarships, educational loans,
and work study opportunities to eligible students.
What does the LPN job forecast look like?
Employment
of LPN’s is expected to grow faster than average
for all health occupations through 2014 in response
to the long-term care needs of an increasing elderly population
and the general growth of health care services. Replacement needs
will be a major source of job openings, as many workers are expected
to leave the occupation permanently. |
Will
I be able to continue my studies towards an RN degree after
completing the LPN Program?
Absolutely. The Connecticut Technical
High School System and the Connecticut Community Colleges have
partnered together to provide graduating LPN students an opportunity
to complete their studies towards becoming a Registered Nurse. Graduating
CTHSS LPN students need to complete two additional college courses
before enrolling for an additional year of study in a Registered
Nursing program at any of the Community Colleges in Connecticut.
If
I previously applied to a Community College RN Program
and I already took the prerequisite college courses and the
TEAS Test, do I have to take the Nursing Entrance Test (NET)?
No, you do not. If you successfully completed MATH 137 and ENGLISH
101, we will honor your TEAS Test score for admissions. You must
provide an official copy of your TEAS results.
What
is the Schedule for the LPN Program which will be offered
over the next two years?
The
day schedule for the programs are:
Classes begin August, 2008 and program completion is in January,
2010. A new class begins
January, 2010 and program
completion is in August, 2011.
The evening schedule
for the programs are:
Classes at Vinal Tech evening program begin August,
2008 and program completion is in June, 2010. A
new class begins August, 2010 and program completion is in June,
2012.
Classes at Abbott
Tech evening program begin January,
2009and program completion is in December, 2010. A
new class begins January, 2011 and program completion is in December,
2012.
