Repair Student Earns While He Learns at Airport Auto Body
Collision
Repair student David Machado has been working at Airport
Auto Body since January, 2008. Based in Hartford, Airport
Auto Body has been a full service body repair shop for
over 25 years. They specialize in repairing and refinishing
BMWs and are one of only 35 businesses in the whole country
authorized to work on Jaguars. Owner Tony Cavallaro said
he is always looking for individuals who want to be serious
and dedicated auto body technicians. "It takes many
years to become an expert in collision repair. David is
young but with the right attitude and hard work he will
be able to do well in the auto body field."
David
said that he really enjoys working at Airport Auto Body.
"I have already learned a lot and the people are
very friendly and helpful." Asked if his training
at Prince Tech has prepared him for working at Airport
Auto Body, he said, "Yes, definitely. When I started
at Prince Tech, I didn't know anything about Auto Body.
When I started here, I had a good foundation in the field
and I was able to work on many tasks right away."
David
works 3 full days a week when he is in shop and after
school when he is in academic classes. He gets paid and
gets real world experience giving him a head start when
he graduates from high school.
