Season
Recap
In the cool days of spring, the hot summer
afternoons, the sprawling fields with the freshly cut grass, infield
raked of dirt and sweat, comes baseball, Prince Tech baseball,
not in its infancy but still trying to grasp the intricacies and
nuances of a game fit for athletes with incredible patience, long
hours of idle time but only 1.3 seconds to swing. This is baseball.
Seniors Will Toro, Pedro Arzuaga, Johnny Lugo, Sandry Dejesus, and
Jessie Thomas have limited baseball abilities, but Toro and Arzuaga
are two of the best players on the team! The freshman and sophomore
classes have been a good addition to keep the team striving to win.
Sophomores Jeffery Santiago, George Miranda, Jorge Diaz, Sammy Otero,
Guillermo Rodriguez, Reinaldo Alvarado, Josue Roman, Leonard Thomas
are learning the skills on the field of dreams, not dreams of making
the major league but dreams of winning and competing in a sport where
skill and repetition is the name of the game.
Freshmen with their grand visions, coupled
with youthful exuberance carefully watch and learn the correct
hitting stance, the proper throwing, procedures on ball transfers
and cut 2’s and 3’s. The
freshman players Stephen Diaz, Matthew Santiago and Kevin
Crespo are a group of young men who with more seasons will become
some of the best to play here in a long time! The goals in any
sport is winning. We are doing that not only on the field but
in the live of these young men who have taken the time and energy
to perform at a certain level to become good players but more
importantly good young men.
