On Tuesday,
April 8th a group of Prince Tech High School students visited
Hartford Public Library to hear well known author Rita Williams-Garcia
speak. Author of four award winning novels including "Everytime
a Rainbow Dies",
Williams-Garcia continues to break new ground in young people's
literature. Her works have been recognized by the Coretta Scott
King Award Committee, PEN Norma Klein, American Library Association,
and Parents' Choice, among others.
English instructor Ms. Keith
and Mr. Viola the school’s library media specialist collaborated
to coordinate this event as part of “The Big Read”,
sponsored by the National Endorsement of the Arts.
