Michael Furey has been selected as the Prince Tech Teacher
of the Year for 2008.
Mr. Furey has taught English at Prince Tech for seven years. Prior
to teaching at Prince, he taught at Ellington High School and at
the Memphis International Language School in Cairo, Egypt.
Mr. Furey graduated from Westfield State College in 1997 with
a Bachelor Degree in English and Education and again in 2007 with
a Master Degree in Education. He is working toward a second
Master Degree in English. This year he will publish his
first scholarly article, a literary analysis.
At Prince Tech, Mr. Furey has served on the Portfolio Committee
and NEASC Committee. Currently he serves on the Technology
Committee. He also has developed and presented professional
development for the school and the district.
This fall Mr. Furey will be honored
along with the Teachers of the Year from each technical high school
at the annual Celebration of Excellence dinner. |
