Marketing, Management and Entrepreneurship

Program Description

The Marketing, Management and Entrepreneurship program began its roots with the CTHSS in 2005. Since it began at Norwich Technical High School we have expanded to Eli Whitney Technical High School in 2011. Marketing is a part of every industry and is an integral part of growing and building businesses. Our curriculum covers a multitude of skills and provides students with a vast number of career opportunities.

Marketing professionals gather data to help a company market its products or services. Gathering data on consumer demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits. They collect data and information using a variety of methods, such as interviews, questionnaires, focus groups, market analysis surveys, public opinion polls, and literature reviews.

As a part of the school based enterprise our students are exposed to every aspect of running a business. From ordering, inventory, loss prevention, promotion and sales. Customer service is a key element as the students interact with customers to handle complaints, process orders, and provide information about the school based enterprises products and services.

Changes to this industry are all electronic based. The wave of online shopping, advertising and promotions are an ever changing environment.
