Ninth
grade Social Studies classes visited the library to research Latin
America. Students worked alone or in groups. Each group or student
randomly chose a Latin American country, researched the country
and developed a brochure using Microsoft Publisher software. They
then presented their brochures to the combined classes in the Tiered
Lecture Hall. On
November 6, Latin American cuisine came to life in the library – students
brought in meals such as:
Budin
De Pan, Turk’s Corn Bread, Bizcocho de Tres Leches, Lemon
Peel, TuilesBesitos, de CocoPabellon, Criollo, Coconut Cream Pie,
Riz et Pois Rouges, Ecuadorian Salsa, Fresh Mango Shake, Loukoumades,
Chilean style Sopaipillas, Chipa Mestizo, Apple Frangipane Tart,
Bahama Chicken, Salad, Calaloo Soup
