The Windham Tech golf team finished the season
with a 6-13 record overall and a 6-10 record in the CSC East
where they finished in 6th place. In the CSC two man Tournament
the team finished in 2nd place shooting a 165. This was the
lowest score the team has posted in the 2 man tournament.
Senior Ryan Smith had a strong finish to the season by finishing
2nd in the CSC league tournament with a 75 to become a league
all-star. Ryan did an amazing job coming back from a back
injury that when first diagnosed eliminated any chance of
competing this golf season. Ryan healed quickly enough to
play all season and really turned the corner the last 2 weeks
of the season and showed how he would of performed all season
if completely healthy by shooting a 40 at Harrisville, a
40 at Pequot and then a 75 at Tunxis Plantation in the League
Tournament.
Senior Tyler Danks a three year player and senior Rick Walz
a first year player finish there careers posting so well
improved scores though out the season.
Junior Nick Lasch posted his best average of his career
with a 53.8 and started to discover his game at the end of
the season posting scores of 48 at Brookly C.C. and a 44
at Harrisville.
Sophomore Steven Keegan was part of the 2 man team that
placed second at the CSC tournament shooting a 90. Stephen
averaged a 47.6 this season and was the winner of the long
drive contest at the CSC tournament blasting a 305 yard drive
on the 16th hole.
Two freshman contributed all year to the varsity Zach Miles
and Zach Young. They gained valuable knowledge this season
and will hopefully be big contributers in the future for
the team.
