Welcome New Staff
Stephen Donnell

Assistant Principal Stephen Donnell: I was born and raised in Manhattan, and have lived in Connecticut since 1976.  In high school, I was trained as an airplane mechanic and graduated from Aviation High School in New York; after serving two years in the U.S. Army, I started college upon discharge.  At the undergraduate level, I attended Nassau Community College, receiving an A.A. degree, followed by Stony Brook University, receiving a B.A. degree.  At the graduate level, I received an M.S.W. from the University of Maryland, a Master of Business Management from Hartford Graduate Center, and a Sixth Year in Educational Leadership from Central Connecticut State University.  My career path mirrors my educational path.  While I never pursued my technical education, for one-third of my life I worked in human services; one-third in small business ownership or management; and currently, in education leadership.  Throughout, I assumed leadership positions in the profit, non-profit, and volunteer sectors.

Most recently, I served for seven years as the Assistant Principal of H.H. Ellis Technical High School in Danielson, CT, and in July, 2009, transferred to Windham.   In service to our students, I model the path of higher education beyond technical high school.  In service to our school community, I bring a blend of people, business, and education skills, which in combination helps guide our students towards success.
