The
Windham Tech community united once again to aid in the fight
against cancer at the Windham Area Relay for Life held on October
18th through the 19th. Several members of our community spent
weeks finding sponsors to support our team as we walked around
the Eastern Sports Complex during a 24 hour period. Fourteen
students, Staff member Mrs. Scheff and one parent volunteer,
Kristen Michaud, braved the FREEZING temperature to take the
third shift walking. By the dawn of morning the students were
tired, cold and hungry, but that did not cover up the feelings
of accomplishment. “We came close to our record of $2,000” said
Elizabeth Scheff, Team Captain. “We hoped to beat it
but I think that it is a little bit harder for people to give
this year.” Regardless, a good time was had by all
and plans are already underway for next year’s event. |
