The Windham Tech family is proud to announce that Mr. Christopher Morgan, a History teacher has been chosen as the 2008-2009 Teacher of the Year.
Mr.
Morgan was hired at Windham Technical High School in 2005. He received a BA in History and Social Studies from Eastern Connecticut State University where he also received his Master Degree in Secondary Education. Mr. Morgan’s
knowledge, teaching strategies, kindness, good humor and
commitment to students are well known in the Windham Tech
community.
Outside
of the classroom Mr. Morgan has been a leader in the school
community by being a class advisor, MOSIAC advisor, and a
host and mentor to many aspiring teachers from Eastern Connecticut
State University. Most impressively, Mr. Morgan cofounded The Block Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping teenagers prepare for life after High School. The
program also offers basketball and football leagues, a fall
tutoring program that includes college matching program,
middle school recreational hour and weight training.
Mr.
Morgan is an exceptional teacher, leader, and community member
and the Windham Tech family is proud to recognize his excellence,
dedication and passion for children, colleagues and his profession. |
