The program consists of theory, in school hands-on
practice, and approximately 350 hours of clinical training in local
dental offices and clinics. Students earn their Infection Control
(ICE) and Radiation Health & Safety (RHS) certifications prior
to the start of clinical rotations. Due to our accreditation
by the American Dental Association, students are eligible to take
the Dental Assisting National Board General Chairside Examination
upon graduation. Successful completion of this exam in addition
to the ICE and RHS exams earns the title of Certified Dental Assistant
(CDA). (Graduates of a non-ADA accredited program must work for
two years to be eligible for certification!) |
