CT Aviation Maintenance Technician Schools Now Accepting Applications for March 2022

The Connecticut Technical Education and Career System’s schools for aviation maintenance technicians are now accepting applications for the March 2022 class. Adult learners with an interest in aviation maintenance are encouraged to apply.
The aviation maintenance training program is offered at two locations approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); CT Aero Tech in Hartford, CT, and Stratford School for Aviation Maintenance Technicians in Stratford, CT. Both programs offer the same full-time, 20-month curriculum in General, Airframe and Power Plant.
Students receive extensive hands-on training in small classes with industry-experienced teachers. Instruction takes place in a facility equipped with real aircraft for practical training.
Students are exposed to a variety of theory and shop classes such as metalwork, woodwork, welding, hydraulics, electrical, electronics, painting and engine overhaul.
Upon successful completion of the curriculum, graduates are eligible to take the FAA examinations to certify as an Airframe and Power Plant Aviation Maintenance Technician.
Aviation maintenance technician is a career in demand according to the Connecticut Department of Labor, with salary ranges between $52,000 and $104,000. Graduates from this program have obtained jobs in commercial or private airline maintenance, aircraft engine manufacturing, wind turbine technician, vintage aircraft restoration, sales at manufacturer facilities, cargo or passenger fleet management, unmanned aircraft systems, and more.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Tuition is $7,200 payable in three installments, plus a $50 admissions test fee. Financial aid is available through the Title IV/Pell grants to eligible students. The schools are also approved for the training of eligible veterans under federal laws.
