April 19, 2024
Offering Expanded Career Opportunities and Connections for Employers, Students and Graduates
The Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS), otherwise known as Connecticut’s technical high schools, announces the opening of its first Career Center. The Career Center provides statewide employers with a platform for collaboration and talent acquisition with the school system. It also aims to enhance industry exposure and career pathways for students and graduates.
As early as freshman year students will receive access to the Career Center empowering them to explore local companies, engage with employers, and receive notifications tailored to their career aspirations.
Key features for employers include:
- Streamlined communication and recruitment processes between employers and CTECS’ 20 locations
- Unlimited free postings for job openings, work-based learning opportunities, and internships
- A new, enhanced job board that is searchable by trade and location, ensuring job postings reach the right candidates
- Access to an extensive database of student and alumni resumes
- Invitations to Program Advisory Committee meetings, career fairs, and other events
- Customizable options for virtual or in-person hiring events tailored to employers’ needs
- Increased brand visibility
Employers are encouraged to register and set up profiles as soon as possible. During registration, employers will have the option to post job opportunities and indicate how they would like to engage with CTECS. Students and graduates will be invited into the system in early May to begin applying and connecting with employers. More information will be provided to students and graduates in the coming weeks.
