CTECS Releases Talking Shop, a Podcast Hosted by Dr. Solek

The Connecticut Technical Education and Career System is pleased to launch Talking Shop with CTECS, a new podcast hosted by Interim Superintendent Dr. Ellen Solek. The goal of this podcast is to educate the general public on the benefits of Career and Technical Education (CTE) while myth-busting perceptions about careers in the trades. Join us and our expert guests as we talk about the widening skills gap; student debt; cutting edge industries; high-paying, in-demand careers; educational strategies and pathways; and so much more.

In episode 1, Dr. Solek and CTECS Board Chairman Robert Trefry discuss how CTE programming is embedded into Connecticut’s workforce pipeline strategy, and Connecticut’s technical high school model as an exemplar for the nation.
